Graduate Research Assistantships are periodically made available for MS and Ph.D. students in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Oklahoma State University in several research areas.
Arthropod-Vector-Host-Pathogen Interactions
Cellular, Biochemical, and Molecular Aspects of Aphid and Tick Biology
Insect-Plant Interactions
Integrated Pest Management of Small Grain and Wheat Insect Pests
Pest Management in Horticulture and Vegetable Production
Plant-Parasite Interactions
Stored Product Insect Pests
There are also additional opportunities to participate in jointly sponsored research projects. In response to national security needs, the U.S. government and national security community have called for the development of a dedicated national microbial forensics system that includes robust capability for incidents in the agricultural and food sectors. Strategies for securing our plant resources must address microbial forensic technology, to determine the source of intentional pathogen introductions and to provide evidence for attribution. Incoming students are appointed as research assistants with yearly stipends of $17,510 (Ph.D.) and $16,583 (MS). In-state and out-of-state tuition equal to 12 credit hours per year is waived.
