PLP 5560 Vector Biology

Research:

1. Feeding physiology and behavior of leafhoppers and other hemiptera.

2. Functional anatomy of leafhoppers with respect to the transmission of plant pathogenic spiroplasmas.

3. Anatomy and physiology of salivary gland structures of the hemiptera, especially for the squash bug, Anasa tristis (deGeer).

4. Transmission biology of the cucurbit yellow vine bacterium, Serratia marcescens.
